I was sent the track ‘Passed Caring’ this morning which is the debut single by Temple Songs, on first listen I got them mixed up with Temples, similar name and very similar sound (yeah im stupid). But these guys are definitely not Temples; they are a Manchester four-piece made up of Jolan Lewis (guitar vocals) Dave Hardy (bass) Jean Hughes (guitar) Andrew Richardson (drums) They have been doing the rounds over the past year supporting some of the best emerging talent including; Temples, Charlie Boyer And The Voyeurs, METZ, Egyptian Hip Hop and Palma Violets
Passed Caring is a lovely fuzzy little number and is a strong debut from the Manchester quartet, it’s woozy, trippy, psychedelic and recorded with a lo-fi edge (they like to record onto cassette) and on Passed Caring you feel the 60’s inspiration coming from the likes of The Beach Boys and the LSD influenced tracks off The Beatles Revolver album
Temple Songs will be playing Dalston’s Shacklewell Arms on June 27th for the Passed Caring launch party.
Passed Caring will be released via RIP Records on July 1st 2013 (7” Vinyl)
