The Vaccines @ 02 Academy, Brixton, Monday November 23rd

Vaccines_13 (1 of 1)

Monday evening saw The Vaccines play the second of three huge shows at the iconic 02 Academy, Brixton. Support came in the form of U.S newcomers Sunflower Bean and local boy’s, Palma Violets, who more than warmed the 5000 capacity crowd up in their typical frenetic-style.

The Vaccines aren’t short of a-bit of ‘big venue’ experience. If you go back to 2012 – they were selling out Ally Pally, so tonight should have been a doddle for them, and so it proved, as the quintet fine tooth-picked the ‘singles’ from their three album back-catalogue. With each feel-good, indie club-banger that was churned out, from ‘Teenage Icon’ to ‘Nørgaard’ the crowd grew louder and room got sweatier. If nothing else, thats what this band do best. No-holds-barred indie-pop. If it’s not for you…? Then you would’ve had a long evening.
