Cut Ribbons preview debut LP with title-track ‘We Want To Watch Something We Loved Burn’.

Ahead of the release of their debut album later this month, South Wales quintet Cut Ribbons have shared online it’s title track ‘We Want To Watch Something We Loved Burn’.

Discussing the new cut with Clash, Vocalist Aled Rees said: “We wrote this during a really sunny spell of weather and I think that’s what shaped the feel of the track. We come from a coastal town but the lyrics were written whilst I was in Tenby. In the van coming home from shows, seeing Mumbles lighthouse and the pier, only then it feels like we are almost home. It was something that factored into the imagery but not so much the narrative. We want to watch something we loved burn is just the personification of reckless abandoned, a pretty romantic notion to write about I think.”

‘We Want To Watch Something We Loved Burn’ is out August 21st via Kissability.
