As far as early self-produced demos go, Black Honey’s first offerings are as good as you’re likely to hear. First-up was last-months super-chilled & emotive debut ‘Sleep Forever’ (which we missed at the time)and now they’re back with its sultry follow-up ‘Teenager’.
Having heard ‘Sleep Forever’ first, I semi-feared a Lana Del Ray theme would run its course through their work, but that’s not the case. ‘Teenager’ is on a whole different level to their debut, with its bristling guitar lines and hazy-shoegaze laced vocals, the track leans towards the current psych-trend and that should have the A&R men scrambling.
