Live Review: Astral Pattern @ Shacklewell Arms 23.05.14

Astral Pattern

Astral Pattern brought their Kraftwerk inspired psychedelic-pop to the back room in Shacklewell arms tonight. The three-piece who formed out of the ashes of S.C.U.M put on a tight 40-minute show without a guitar or drum kit insight.

We were lucky enough to catch their debut at the same venue last July and tonight their set felt bigger and brasher from the moment an extended version of set opener ‘Far Away’ kicked in. ‘Properties Of Colour’ and last-years single ‘Sitting in the Sun’ also sounded great live, and though it’s still early days for the group – with a bit of luck on their side Astral Pattern have the sound to bridge the gap between the indie-pop and commercial dance scenes.
