Ok, tonight we went down to London’s Borderline to catch Saint Raymond aka Callum Burrows perform to a packed out audience. Callum uses Saint Raymond as his moniker ala Bastille and that isn’t the only striking similarity between the pair.
Clearly already adored by his (mainly teenage) audience – tracks like ‘Fall at Your Feet’ taken from Saint Raymond’s iTunes top 30 EP ‘Escapade’ and his huge 2014 single ‘Young Blood’ bring excitable giggles and plenty of hand clapping from within the audience and to be fair pretty much every track on the set-list feels like a single in the making, such was the radio-friendly nature of them.
Even if at times the set feels choreographed and overly text-book, the lads obviously got talent (and only 18). He wouldn’t be my cup of tea but it’s not hard to see that Callum Burrows or Saint Raymond as he’s known is a chart-topper in the making. So we best appreciate we’re seeing him in this shoe-box sized venue before he’s headlining the Roundhouse at next year’s ITunes fest.
