Bristol four-piece Coasts have been hammering out music since meeting at university back in 2011 but their new single ‘Stay’ is my first introduction to them and they’ve made a pleasing first impression. They have been described as having a “tropical vibe” which I found hard to gauge from my first listens to ‘Stay’ but it’s undeniably a feel good tune which sits nicely into the indie-pop genre.
The single has been taken from their upcoming EP Wildfires (due for release later in the year) and there’s plenty to like about it, the free-flowing riffs combine nicely with the chunky bass line, that’s all topped off by an effortlessly easy-on-the-ear chorus that’s worthy of some mainstream radio-time.
