I have quickly come to embrace New York’s American Authors; since forming back in 2012 they’ve built a solid following around Brooklyn’s music scene and have now found themselves in the midst of a surge of attention from home and abroad. They release their self-titled EP today (August 27) digitally through Deaf Jam, the lead track is ‘Luck’ (listen below) which is a grower in all senses of the word, the slow, tidy, catchy-beginning, initially points in the direction of a simple but affective Indie-pop track… But ‘Luck’ builds from those early hooks into the kind of anthemic harmony-led climax you would expect to find from Arcade Fire, which had me pleasantly surprised.
