Eliza and the Bear are an Indie-Rock five-piece from London, Oh! Just to clear up any confusion there isnt actually an Eliza in the band (all guys) the band’s name comes from the title of a collection of poems by Eleanor Rees…A-bit of knowledge.
Eliza and the Bear’s sound varies slightly track to track, from their older and most popular tracks ‘Upon the North’ & ‘The Southern Wild’ which definitely have a folkie edge about them, to their latest release ‘Friends’ which is more in the standard Alt–Indie mould. What all Eliza and the Bear’s tracks do have though, are glistening melodies and huge choruses that (should) turn into jubilant sing-alongs when played live this summer.
The band has supported the likes of Imagine Dragon, Little Comets and Athlete over the past year or so and they have upcoming a handful of summer festival dates, before embarking on a UK headline tour in September. More details on where they’ll be here.
Eliza and the Bear play London’s The Borderline on September 13th (definitely worth checking out)
