New: Waxahatchee – Coast to Coast

Just signed by Wichita Records here In the UK, Waxahatchee was formed by vocalist Katie Crutchfield after she decided to go solo, following the demise of her previous band P.S. Eliot back in 2011, the now Brooklyn based Crutchfield rolls with a 90’s style of Grunge(y) Post-Punk.

Coast to Coast is 106 seconds of Grungy- guitar rock that starts with an immediate bang, with scuzzy riffs and melodic vocals by Katie Crutchfield but then leaves me with the feeling it is over before it’s begun as the song fades out to a chorus of “oohs” a minute and a half later… But that shouldn’t take anything away from what is a brilliant track, which leaves me wanting to hear more, when the re-issued second LP Cerulean Salt is released here in the UK on July 1st by Wichita.

Waxahatchee are due to play two headline London shows in June, firstly they have a sold out show at The Shacklewell Arms on June 13th followed by a night at Dalston Roof Gardens on June 14th.
